Add someone to the roster
What he agreed to
A job belongs to one company, so the job list only opens once a company is chosen. Add the man first — a face can be captured later, or never. He can touch his own name and the record is exactly the same. Nothing goes on a hat.
A monitor works crews, not a site roster. Set the crews up here, put men on them, then say which monitor watches which. The Monitor tab is empty until this is done.
Start vs day 1 is how much higher a man begins his shift now than he did on the first day of this range. Since last weigh-in is what he has dropped since he was last weighed — that is a hitch or a week apart, not overnight. Both are his own against his own — nobody is compared to anybody else.
Each man against his own normal, not against the crew. MetaCool does not say who comes off the line — that is the supervisor's call, and what he did goes on the record.
Under construction
Placeholder. Nothing is wired to this tab yet and nothing writes from it.
Scope boundary for whatever lands here: MetaCool measures, screens against the client's own protocol parameters, and keeps the record. It does not triage, diagnose, direct treatment, or carry protected health information. Anything clinical belongs to the licensed provider on their own side of the line.

Entered once, on this tablet, and kept here. It does not travel with an exported setup file - carry the protocol to the next tablet, not the credential.
Thresholds, cadence and what is allowed at a cooling station belong to the operator, not to MetaCool. Configure one tablet and carry the file to the next.

Pulse
Heart rate comes from a contact sensor, not from the camera. No sensor is attached to this tablet, so the channel is not running and nothing here is settable. When a sensor is fitted its own settings appear here.

Cooling protocol
What this operator asks a man to do when he is sent to cool. Shown to him at that moment and recorded against what he actually took. MetaCool does not author this and it is not medical advice from the system.
Pulse and HPI
His pulse line is 180 − his age when his birth year is on file, otherwise the number above. Defaults: 120 · 80% · 90% · 100% · 15 minutes · HPI 850 / 750 / 600.
Spotter keep-alive
A phone a man holds sends a still-here with his position when it has sent nothing else for this long. Silent past the second number, his foreman and the superintendent are told once. Defaults: 3 · 7.
Switch account
On the phone: Help → Switch account. It keeps the phone's ID, speech models and log, hands the phone back first, and will not switch while anything is unsent. Default: anyone.
Messages
A foreman sends messages to his crew; a superintendent, supervisor or safety man sends them to foremen. The man says "Breaker copy" or taps Copy. Not copied: it plays again after this long, twice, then whoever gave it is told. Default: 2.
Drink reminder
| Heat index from, °F | Caught up | 1 bottle behind | 2+ behind |
|---|---|---|---|
Minutes between water checks; 0 = none. Each row runs from its heat index up to the row above it, highest first; below the lowest row there are none. Spotter asks "How many bottles have you had since the last check?" Never on Crew Talk or over MT, and not within 5 minutes of a heat check. Defaults: 17 oz · 1 an hour · 105°F: 90 / 60 / 60 · 100°F: 0 / 90 / 60 · 95°F: 0 / 0 / 90. Saved with Save setup.
Allowed at a cooling station
Contractors reach their own conclusions on their own medical advice. Anything unticked never appears on a worker’s screen.
Equipment only. This says what is out there and whether there is a spare — it is not a record of who had what.
Sentinel uses the front camera and mirrors the preview, because the worker is looking at himself. Scout uses the rear camera and does not mirror, because the safety man is pointing it at somebody else. Every record notes which role took it.
Every completed screening — including the photograph taken at the kiosk — is written locally first, then sent to the evidence store when there is a signal. Nothing is lost on a jobsite with no bars. Records are append-only at the database: the key in this page may add a record and can neither read, change nor delete one.
Runs the whole pipeline without the camera: enrols a person, writes a shift-start baseline, a scheduled check with intake, and a full cooling cycle — then checks that the record store, the cadence, the insight maths and the evidence queue all did what they should. Nothing is sent to a client.
Reset & reseed puts back the starting crew and the last seven days of history. Wipe leaves it empty so you can build a roster from scratch. Export from Records first if you want to keep anything.
Tell us what happened
Goes straight into MetaCool's queue. Say what you were doing, what you expected, and what it did instead. Blunt is useful.
Work this site offers
Tick what the crews actually do here. Unticked work never appears on the Heat Check screen. Rate how hard it is, 1 easy to 5 flat out — the rating is stamped on every check taken with it, so re-rating later never changes a past record.
What this site takes at a check
Body temperature is always taken and is not listed. Switch off anything this crew has no instrument for — a box nobody can fill teaches a monitor to skip boxes.
Who holds a role at this site
Superintendent, supervisor, safety manager and monitor. A role decides who he can give orders to and how he ranks on Crew Talk. Ending a role keeps its history. A crew’s foreman and crew monitor are set on the Roster page.
Paste the crew sheet straight out of Excel — select the block with the foremen and their men, copy, and paste below. Columns side by side is how the sheet is laid out and how this reads it. Nothing is written until you press Import.
